Experience violet wine in the Palatinate region. The Weingut am Nil wine estate – We’re not from Egypt. The Weingut am Nil wine estate was founded in 2010 and has been producing top Rieslings since then. The Schuster winemaker family had previously farmed the property since 1841. The Schusters used the Palatinate and Kallstadt lion as the emblem on their label. As bound by tradition, the Nil also adopted the lion’s head on its label and it stands at all times for expressiveness and dynamism. The large Saumagen and Herrenberg vineyards in particular are distinguished by their unique terroir. The wine estate has its lion’s share in Saumagen with 3.5 hectares. As the parcel of land bears the name “Nil”, the wine estate adopted this as it’s own name. At the moment the wine estate cultivates roughly 26 hectares of vineyards in Kallstadt and the surrounding area.
It used to be my favorite restaurant. Unfortunately the quality has deteriorated a lot. Last time they served over-fried old wedges. The classic tarte flambée wasn't really tasty either. I think it's a shame.
Insanely great restaurant! Super good food, attentive service, very cozy and great wine. Highly recommended, gladly again and again!
The hotel and the restaurant are designed with great attention to detail. Food, beds, service everything was great. Breakfast great. We will definitely be back
A nice ambience. Delicious food? the conditions are very, very friendly.
Really amazing. Everything fits here, the ambience, staff and fantastic wines. Food optically and tastefully great! We'll definitely see you again.
Delicious food, nice atmosphere and very good wine. The grape juice is also highly recommended! Will definitely come again
Absolute must have !!! ... A beautiful backyard with a restaurant that is second to none in this region. A chef who works with attention to detail and uses high quality products. The wine selection and its quality is very good. Definitely worth a detour!
Gastronomy and service in exclusive mode. Fast but without hectic. Great wines and refined dishes in an exceptionally beautiful ambience. Highly recommended. Make a reservation in advance.
We were invited to a wedding party. The service was extremely friendly and accommodating. The rest, however, left a lot to be desired. The Teres Major fillets were sometimes very tough. On the displays where the menu was available, the prices were listed which is an absolute no-go for a celebration of this kind. And finally, the ice cream cake that was delivered the day before was stored incorrectly overnight so that it was no longer available, which was just worth a brief excuse. Sure, the ambience is great and if some of them don't come, then the next will come, but that's not a reputation. There are enough other wineries in the area that may not have the reputation, but know how to host a wedding. Because holding this celebration in the middle of everyday business and not making a partition despite the spatial possibilities is, in my opinion, a sign of the low appreciation of such a celebration and I would not recommend anyone to hold something like this in this restaurant.
Picnic in the vineyard / way too expensive / disappointing The idea is very good, unfortunately there is still a lack of implementation. The concept has not yet been properly thought out and the price / performance ratio unfortunately leaves much to be desired at this event! Under Corona times, we were registered for 3 p.m. and had to wait 30 minutes with small children for the picnic rucksacks due to lack of organization. We were 4 adults, 1 child, 1 infant and got three backpacks packed. For this I had to leave a deposit from Sage und Schreibe 100 € in cash ?? Then we were allowed to start a little haphazardly in a strange area with a hiking map and the three very heavy backpacks. After we had looked for a place in a vineyard, we took a seat on the grass and opened the backpacks. These were lovingly packed and included: - 2 bottles Wine, 2 bottles Water (all glass bottles), plastic glasses and mugs - small glasses with a little butter, herb quark, cucumber, radish, tomato, grapes, cheese - Mini portions of black pudding, sausage, liver sausage - The bread and the toppings were more than clear and complete for 4 adults insufficient; 3 small baguette slices per person, were for the fetch tooth! And then you have to be clear and precise at a price of € 39.00 for 2 people, the price / performance ratio is not right here and must be clearly reconsidered and revised by the organizers. Again: The four of us paid almost € 80 for a little raw food, little bread, little topping, 2 bottles. Riesling wine and 2 bottles Water paid. It was an experience that you definitely don't need a second time. Still, we had a nice afternoon with our friends.
At first we were enthusiastic about the space. Just great, extraordinary and appealing. Interesting menu and good variety. The dishes served were great in terms of appearance and taste. The own wine tasted good and the service was nice, friendly and very quick. Our wish to get a seat in the inner courtyard was not forgotten either. But we liked to stay indoors. We would love to come back.
The gastronomy in the Weingut am Nil is impressively good = outstanding, both the food and the ambience. We were there for the first time and will definitely be back. The menu is very unusual and stands out very pleasantly from the usual Palatinate food. The latter also tastes good, but sometimes it just has to be something special. You can find it here.
A really fantastic place for lunch and dinner. Beautiful yard with nice decoration and ambience. The unusual menu really offers something for everyone, including a nice selection of starters. The wide range of wines is great. A very nice atmosphere with great service and nice waiters. It is advisable to reserve in advance, especially on weekends.
Very nice atmosphere, especially in the garden. Nice wines from their own estate, but the prices are very crisp for the food on offer. The food was good but would have been reasonably priced for something exceptional.
We celebrated our wedding here and it was an absolute dream !! Starting with the smooth organization with Mr. Zimmerhakl up to the legendary meal and the wonderful evening in the dreamlike atmosphere with you! The service was exceptionally good, all guests rave about you! Many thanks to the entire Nile team !!!
We were on our anniversary for a wonderful dinner at the winery on the Nile. It was our first visit there and what can I say? It was breathtaking, starting with the service that left nothing to be desired, the ambience matched and invites you to relax and finally the kitchen and its quality all in all a successful evening. We will be back definitely. Thanks again to the whole team for such a successful evening ?
I let myself be blinded by the wonderful ambience and the interesting menu. Service is a bit slow, which is not surprising given the masses that are served there. When it comes to friendliness, at least some employees have room for improvement. In spite of the mask, an operator was seen to be permanently eating up. Basically the food is good and the prices are reasonable. However, the Palatinate is more pleasant from the audience and can do a lot more culinary - especially with regard to sophistication and value for money.
Very nice restaurant with nice service and delicious food / drink at a good price!
We were there for the first time today and are absolutely thrilled. Everything is just right. The location: (inside and outside area) well designed with a lot of love for every detail. You feel like you're on vacation. The service: leaves nothing to be desired. Fast, very friendly and helpful. The food: no run-of-the-mill cuisine - great selection, excellent in taste and served in an appealing way. Finally, we took a few more wines with us for the vacation at home. No. 1 tastes fantastic. We'll definitely be back for a “short break”. ??
Very nice to be there also through Advent Time. Be aware on Saturdays it might be that mulled wine is not offered. But the sparkling wine is also very nice.
We loved the food! Very good quality. Nice selection of accompanying wines. Great ambience. The seating is first class. You don't want to get up anymore. The friendly service is very attentive and very nice. All around everything that the guest's heart desires. A reservation is highly recommended. We will definitely be back!
Great food!
Fantastic vineyard. Beautiful garden for wine tasting and dining. Highly recommended.
Very good food. Fast service. Nice outdoor location. Cheap. Will come again !
Beautiful location, food and service. Perfect on a warm afternoon in the wine garden too
Excellent open air locations, own wines (try Riesling Kallstadt!) and also if you like beautiful lodging
I've visited a few of the area vinotheks and Weingut am Nil is by far the best that I've found. Good service, great food and exceptional venue. Excellent place to enjoy a meal or simply partake in the excellent wines on the patio if the weather is kind.
